Edward Lee is the chef of restaurants 610 Magnolia and Succotash Prime in Washington, DC, and Succotash in National Harbor, MD. Chef Lee has received many accolades over the course of his career including a 2019 James Beard Foundation Award for his book, Buttermilk Graffiti: A Chef’s Journey to Discover America’s New Melting-Pot Cuisine; he is also a six-time finalist for the Foundation’s award for Best Chef: Southeast. In 2018, Food & Wine named 610 Magnolia one of the country’s most important restaurants of the past 40 years. The Michelin Guide DC awarded Succotash a Bib Gourmand in 2019. Expanding his reach to television and film, Chef Lee was nominated for a daytime Emmy for his role as host of the PBS Emmy-winning series, The Mind of a Chef. He followed that by writing and hosting a feature-length documentary called Fermented, where he tried to understand how the ancient process of fermentation is used in modern cuisine. The film was included as an official selection at the Seattle International Film Festival. In 2021, he was awarded the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award for his work as co-founder of The LEE Initiative, a non-profit organization dedicated to diversity and equality in the restaurant industry. @chefedwardlee
